Antiquorum’s “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces” auction held on February 26th at The Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong took in $4.8 million. The auction was busy with bids worldwide. The results were a good sign for the watch market. The top lot was the sale of an Ostrich Fan Watch custom made for French Emperor Napoleon III in 1855. The fan is extremely ornate and made of 18-karat gold, jewels and painted on enamel.
