At the recent Christie’s watch auction held on May 30, 2011, two Patek Philippe watches each sold for over $1 million. Patek Philippe reference 2499R perpetual calendar, chronograph sold for $1,210,466. Patek Philippe reference 5002P, sky moon tourbillion manufactured in 2008 sold for $1,164,008.

In addition to the Patek sales, a F.P. Journe Centigraphe Sport No. 001 sold to a private Japanese collector for $465,170. The proceeds from the F.P. Journe sale are being donated to help the victims of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan. The watch sold for over nine times the original estimate. For more results of the May 30th auction.
